The Future of Religion and Our World

An anonymous reader asks about science's impact on Abrahamic and Indic religion, especially regarding creation and exclusionary claims. The following is my expanded reply.

Hi,

Usually in these answers I share the beliefs of specific religions. Your question is asking for my personal views and so I am answering from that perspective here.

My personal belief is that the religion now known as Secular Humanism is deceptively advancing its doctrines and agenda in the guise of science to the detriment of all other religions and the human race itself.

As for the age of the earth, my AllFaith religious belief (i.e. based on scripture, meditation and faith rather than objective observation) is that the Sanatana Dharma Vedic version is most likely accurate. It teaches the continuance of four cyclic ages -- of which we are living in the fourth (Kali Yuga: which has around 428,000 years left although this can be modified by the establishment of a "golden age" such as foretold by the biblical prophets and Indian masters such as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu). The date for this shift in ages remains the subject of scholarly debate however for our purposes we can fix the beginning of the present age at circa 5561 B.C.E. as defined by common tradition and scripture. This traditional date fits well with biblical chronology which has our present age beginning circa 5769 B.C.E. In other words, the Bible is also accurate and in agreement with the Vedas when one understands the Genesis account to be referring to the beginning of this present age rather than to the original creation (and in this regard it is noteworthy that many see in the Genesis account two creations rather than one).

This understanding is supported by Master Y'shua's (Jesus) teachings:

Matt 24:3 And as he [Y'shua] sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the age {world}?

"World" here is "aion" which means age not world.

I believe the religious traditions that emerged through Abraham occurred after the destruction of the third age (Dvapara Yuga) -- in which the Sanatana Dharma, the pre-Vedic global Bharata religion/empire reigned supreme and sought to carry on the perennial truth: that God is One and the Source from which and to which all life emerges and returns.

I further believe that we humans have gone about as far as we can spiritually without receiving an updated revelation from Ek Devata (the One God). People around the globe are now crying out for spiritual understanding even as they are abandoning the historic religions. Soon they will accept a counterfeit (John 5:43).

Our ancestors were granted the Light they could comprehend and their teachings were passed down, altered, edited, and redefined to us. This generation has radically altered the Christian religion and will pass down a very different Christianity than the one left to us (if time as we know it continues). This is the nature of religious truth. Unfortunately it is common that such alterations weaken rather than strengthen the innate spirituality of the given religion. This generation has done irreparable damage to the Christian religion, even replacing its central text with a counterfeit: the New Internal Version.

Amidst the upheavals taking place today is the resurrection (or better revitalization) of an ancient form of nature-based Paganism, especially the system of Ashtaroth and Moloch. This revamped ancient religious system is being presented to and embraced by the world in several different guises and it is successfully replacing Christianity, Hinduism and much of popular Judaism. Its (un)holy places include the Bohemian Grove in California and its global headquarters is in Bavaria.
